I’m Miriam Groom, Founder of Mindful Career, Organizational Psychologist and Human Behaviour Specialist. I help people answer one of life’s most important questions: “What am I actually meant to do with my life?”
My journey into this work wasn’t linear — it was personal. Over a decade ago, despite a successful career on paper, I hit rock bottom. I was burned out, depressed, and completely disconnected from myself. I searched everywhere for help, but every solution felt surface-level. No one could show me how to find a career that truly fit , one that matched not just my skills, but my mind, my personality, and my life needs.
So, I built what I couldn’t find. I returned to school, became an Organizational Psychologist, and developed a comprehensive set of frameworks that blend behavioural science, advanced psychometrics, and holistic guidance.
These frameworks became the foundation of Mindful Career — a globally recognized, award-winning career psychology firm that has now helped over 10,000 people worldwide rediscover who they are, unlock their purpose, and transition into careers that fit both their brain chemistry and their life goals.
My background includes over 20 years of experience in human capital strategy, including roles as an Executive Director in KPMG’s Human Capital Advisory, and as the VP of Canada’s top national recruitment firm for over 15 years. As Director of Operations and Client Success at Mindful Career, Stephen plays a central role in ensuring every client’s experience is seamless, personalized, and impactful from the very first conversation. He oversees the client journey from introduction through completion, aligning our counsellors, psychologists, and support teams to deliver the highest standards of care and professionalism.
With over a decade of leadership experience in business development, management, and customer relations, Stephen brings a strong foundation in systems optimization and people-focused leadership. Before joining Mindful Career, he co-founded and managed multiple successful ventures, where he built teams, streamlined operations, and cultivated long-term client trust.
Stephen’s ability to combine operational precision with genuine empathy makes him a natural fit for Mindful Career’s mission — helping every client feel seen, supported, and guided toward meaningful results. Outside of work, he’s passionate about continuous growth, mentorship, and giving back to the community through the Progress Club Calgary Bow River, which supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.

Christine began her professional career in 1997 as an AmeriCorps volunteer, serving the newcomer community in San Francisco, CA by enabling participants to become financially independent with marketable job skills. Since then, she has earned over 5,000 hours in pre-licensure training, and professional licenses in clinical mental health counseling and school psychology. For over twenty years, she has honed skills resolving personal and systems issues within family, school and work communities and addressing mood and learning needs.
Christine's clinical experience includes child and family therapy work in the community mental health and private practice settings, providing consultation with private secondary schools, psychotherapy to their students, and time-limited counseling services to university students. She has also provided the full range of psychological services to US public schools. Christine is proficient in the systematic collection, analysis, and interpretation of data and qualitative information necessary to guide consultation, career and clinical counseling, behavioral assessment, and treatment planning for both children and adults.
Central to her clinical work is developing rapport and understanding the needs of her clients/examinees in concert with approaching problems with warmth and evidence-based therapeutic modalities. Positive Psychology, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy are some of her treatment approaches. She is qualified to interpret the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessments and is professionally trained to administer and interpret clinical psychological tests.
When not working, Christine enjoys volunteering, performing in a community wind ensemble, writing and developing other creative projects, practicing yoga, exploring, running, biking, paddling, and hiking with her dog, Coco.
